Artwork Progression:
I was recently perusing my past work, from about 2-3 years ago, and was humbled by how awful I was! I still am not where I want to be (Do you ever achieve that?). But I was glad at the progression. Most of this I owe to Photoshop, my Wacom tablet, cartoons, and better artists. Without any of these things I would have not progressed. So thank you Adobe,Wacom, Cartoon Network, and Deviant Art!
GTA4:
I've played the game for about 6 hours since I got it Tuesday. Its quite an awe inspiring experience. Not the game itself, its largely the same with A LOT of improvements that make it fantastic, but its the technology and the world that garners most of my praise. The world is so large and so different and the amount of things to do and see make you question if this can all fit on a single game disc. There is so much content packed in that its unholy. The Euphoria physics engine also makes for some funny moments especially during car crashes. The graphics are also very well done;the rain is incredible, only GoW has better rain so far. The missions are pretty much the same as early ventures and the music is as good as you would have expected. One thing I have yet to try is the mulitplayer. From what I hear, if the game does nothing else, it re-imagines what multiplayer is. And kicks it in the balls. ****/*****
You and Me and Everyone We Know:
This little indie romp has quite a cult following. Its an interesting film to say the least, it has moments of brilliance, humor, apathy, sympathy and despair without being inherently sad. The characters are not particularly fleshed out, save for a few, and he story is full of irony and cliff hangers. Much of the movie is trying to figure out the bigger picture and to except that life is not flashy or exciting. Some of the characters come off as one thing then end up as another. The movie is also about perception and the way we portray ourselves. But when it comes down to it , t is really best known for two kids, a computer, and an IM conversation. ***/*****
Wristcutters: A Love Story :
A romantic dram-edy about the place where those who committed suicide go to. Its more or less a road trip movie with subtle satire and a lot of angst. It took some time for me to realise where these people are and what exactly is going on but you'll get it sooner than me. Its a melancholy but humorous take on suicide and Heaven and love. It has no real stand out performances(besides the Russian, Eugene) or scenes but as a whole its makes for a good way to spend an hour and a half. Plus it has a significant message and a good ending. ***/*****
Hot Rod:
If you don't mind turning off your brain and giving into this funny movie it will shower you with humor. I wasn't a fan when it first came out last year but some of the Junior Highers at my church were talking about to a large extent (I'm a Junior High Youth Group advisor). It feels more like something you would find on Comedy Central when no original programming is on and they need to kill two hours. It has some funny performances and I enjoyed the 80's soundtrack and "SNL Digital Short" style scenes. Honestly if you switched Andy Samberg with Will Ferrell this movie would have made billions. So with that said if you're a fan of Will Ferrel, you'll love Hot Rod.Plus it has G.O.B.(Will Arnett) in it!***/*****

This week I got the Boston track pack on RB (Along with Still Alive)
And I give "Smokin'" a shot.. and while I'm playing it I remember that the song has a fat organ solo... And I started wondering how they were gonna pull this off...
Let's just say they pulled a Guitar Hero 3..

yikes.. There's no doubt that the song is fun... it just feels... wrong.

Well, I've been trying to come up with a relatively easy way of doing animation and designing characters and actually having a story of some kind and I have a few floaters so we could get together and discuss it whenever.
I was also thinking of taking your original idea and doing it again. The voices for the characters could be those of the actual people their based on. Almost like an homage to ourselves! We really need to discuss this at length. Text me or call me or something.

Lets combine our skills (or lack of) to form a groovy collaborative flash movie!
We figure Rob can do the technical mumbo jumbo with tweening, you can design characters and do voices, and I can attempt to animate.
Let me know what you think. maybe we can get together tomorrow and lay out some ideas?
Indeed
